Background

Rachel Jones is an Award Winning and International Jeweller & Silversmith based in London. 

Rachel studied Jewellery at Middlesex University on their Contemporary Jewellery focused BA (Hons) course. During her four-year degree she was fortunate enough to spend six months in Australia at Curtin University in Perth on an exchange program, where she was able to explore new avenues of learning as well as developing her work.

Rachel has worked for several notable jewellers including Tamara Gomez, Tania Clarke Hall, Ruth Tomilnson, Cathy Newell Price and Lin Cheung the designer of the London 2012 Paralympic Medals.

In 2012 Rachel completed her Residency at the renowned Bishopsland workshops, just outside of Reading where she spent the year undertaking their Post-Graduate Professional Development in Jewellery & Silversmithing. 

After Bishopsland Rachel moved into South Hill Park in Berkshire as Artist in Residence, where she ran Jewellery & Silversmithing workshops as well as developing her own collection of work.

She is currently studying for her Masters degree at the prestigious Royal College of Art, voted the world's number one art school.   

 

Work 

Rachel's work is intricate, delicate, bold and striking. Combining geometric shapes with organic forms her work is handcrafted in her London studio with each 'speckle' hand applied. 

Working with silver, gold and various unusual stones and forms her work she seeks to create bespoke and unique items of jewellery.
